My Location Scout

Everywhere I go, Mason goes with me:) He’s my side kick and confidant- (until he starts talking, then I’ll have to keep my thoughts to myself!) but the best thing about having a child with me is the ability to prop him up next to my latest location scenery to test it out. Of course, he doesn’t always stay in that location. His favorite thing is running away with his head down so I can’t take pictures of his face.

Here are a few lovely shots of him scouting out the Old LA Zoo for my next photo shoot. I am really excited about this area of Griffith Park, since I’ve never seen it before. Hopefully Little “E” sits still longer than my son!

Seeing the Forest for the Trees

I live right next to a park, and like to get out with my son a lot to explore it. It’s pretty big, and has lots of nice little spots for photo opportunities. Yesterday I found some gorgeous trees! My friend and I put our willing little models down and let them roam, and we got some really amazing shots.

Here are my favorites from yesterday:

My new seamless color backgrounds

I just purchased my newest background: The seamless color paper background. I got pink and blue, but so far have only been able to use the blue. If anyone knows a little girl who wants to pink it up, please be sure to send her my way! I had some fun shooting with my son to see how it looks:

(Update!  Thanks to the lovely Miss A, I was able to grab some lovely shots on the pink. Sneak peak now included in this post)

Cake Smash- Big M

It sounds simple…and it should be, but once a baby finds his or her footing, watch out world! (and camera!) As I carefully designed and baked the cake I was to use for my son’s 1 year photo session, I fantasized about how he would sweetly stick his finger in the frosting and taste it, flashing me a brilliant smile and off we would go, capturing photographic genius at every click. The reality: I ran around for 2 hours trying to keep his sticky fingers off of my camera, me, my carpet, and the cat. [But in the process I lost a few pounds and gained a lot of experience in bribery, cajoling and  funny faces.] I hope you enjoy the results, as I did.
